Charpentier was a well known compser and was born in Paris. Charpentier was well educated and went to law school but dropped out after a semester. Before being found Charpentier was travelling to Rome to become a painter but was later found by Giacomo Carissimi. This song that I have chose by Charpentier is very soothing and relaxing. The interesting thing is that In 1727, Charpentier's heirs sold his autograph manuscripts (28 folio volumes) to the Royal Library.
